The Forward Controls Design ABC/R (Augmented Bolt Catch/Release) is expertly crafted for AR15/M16 receivers with ambidextrous magazine releases. It features an angled, larger top paddle and a lower paddle with an increased surface area, specifically designed to solve the accessibility issues of the factory bolt catch's lower paddle when using an ambidextrous magazine catch. Many ambidextrous mag release paddles align with the factory bolt catch lower paddle, making them difficult to identify by touch, particularly when wearing gloves. The rearward-biased paddle is tailored for left-handed users, enabling them to use their extended left index finger to easily access the bolt catch paddles.
