The Proof Research .308 Winchester 18” Rifle-Length Carbon Fiber AR-Type Barrel (100028) delivers match-grade precision from .308 Win and 7.62 NATO AR-10, DPMS-pattern, and SR-25 semi-automatic platforms in a dramatically lightweight carbon fiber package. Proof Research’s aerospace-grade 416R stainless steel core wrapped in a proprietary high-fiber content carbon fiber composite produces a barrel that is up to 64% lighter than traditional steel alternatives — while providing superior heat management for sustained accuracy during extended fire. The rifle-length gas system and 18-inch barrel provide excellent dwell time and velocity for extended-range precision shooting in a manageable overall length. Features no point-of-impact shift during high-volume fire and reduced harmonic barrel vibration for consistent, repeatable accuracy. Made in the USA by Proof Research in Kalispell, Montana.

The Proof Research carbon fiber barrel diffuses heat along the barrel length (similar to how fiber optics transmit light) and through the barrel wall — resulting in a barrel that cools faster and maintains accuracy over long strings of fire. The 18” rifle-length configuration with 5/8x24 muzzle threads makes it suppressor-ready right out of the box. Ideal for precision rifle competition, long-range hunting, and custom AR-10/.308 precision builds on AR-10/DPMS/SR-25 platforms.
