The LMT Defense 5.56mm 16" Piston MRP Barrel Assembly (L7PC1B) is a 16-inch chrome lined 5.56×45 (.223) barrel featuring LMT's short-stroke piston operating system — the key upgrade for shooters who demand reduced fouling, cooler operating temperatures, and enhanced reliability in adverse conditions. This barrel sports a 1:7" right-hand rifling twist and A2 birdcage flash hider, coated and cryogenically treated for maximum long-term durability.

Designed exclusively for the LMT Monolithic Rail Platform (MRP-L), the piston operating system eliminates the direct impingement gas tube, significantly reducing carbon buildup in the action for cleaner, more reliable operation over extended firing sessions. LMT shoots every barrel for accuracy before shipment. Barrel not included in upper receivers.
